How we handle personal information

(hereinafter referred to as "Tosho Inban") strongly recognizes the importance of personal information entrusted to us by our customers for services rendered (hereinafter referred to as "Services") through this website and hereby defines its privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as this "Policy") as outlined below to ensure compliance with the Privacy Protection Law and other related laws and regulations.

Article 1 (Definition of personal information)

In this Policy, personal information is defined as information related to a living individual that can be used to identify an individual, and information that can be used to identify an individual by matching it with other information, such as one's name, date of birth, address, phone number and email address.

Article 2 (Collection method of personal information)

In this website, customers may be asked for the following personal information at the time of product purchase or when making an inquiry:

Article 4 (Prohibition of sharing or disclosing personal information with third parties)

Tosho Inban handles personal information entrusted to us by our customers with the utmost care and will not disclose personal information to a third party with the exception of the following:

1. 1) The said person has given their consent
2. 2) Personal information must be disclosed to protect a human life, body or asset, and obtaining consent from the said person is difficult
3. 3) Personal information must be disclosed for the improvement of public health or for the promotion of a child's healthy development, and obtaining consent from the said person is difficult
4. 4) Tosho Inban has a legal obligation to disclose personal information in response to a request from a national institution, a regional public body or other organization
5. 5) In rendering a service requested by a customer, their personal information must be disclosed to a service provider to whom Tosho Inban has outsourced the service
6. 6) Succession of the business due to a merger or another cause

Article 5 (Disclosure of personal information)

If Tosho Inban receives a request from the said person to disclose their personal information, Tosho Inban will promptly disclose the information once it has confirmed the inquirer to be the said person. However, this may not be the case if any of the following apply in disclosing this information. Furthermore, if a decision has been made to not disclose the information, the said decision will be promptly notified.

1. 1) The life, body, assets or other rights or interests of the said person or a third party risk being harmed
2. 2) The appropriate execution of Tosho Inban's services may be substantially interfered
3. 3) In rendering a service requested by a customer, their personal information must be disclosed to a service provider to whom Tosho Inban has outsourced the service
4. 4) Other situations in which a law or regulation will be violated

Irrespective of the preceding Paragraph, Tosho Inban will not, in principle, disclose information other than personal information, such as historical or characteristic information.

Article 6 (Correction and deletion of personal information)

A user can submit a request to Tosho Inban to make a correction, addition or deletion to their personal information if their personal information entrusted to Tosho Inban is incorrect. Upon receiving the request stipulated in the preceding Paragraph, Tosho Inban will make the necessary correction to the said information if it deems that it should respond to the request. Based on the stipulation in the preceding Paragraph, Tosho Inban will promptly inform the user if the correction has been made or if a decision was made to not make the correction.

Article 7 (Security measures for personal information)

Tosho Inban has implemented thorough security measures to ensure the accuracy and safety of personal information. We endeavor to continually collect information regarding privacy protection and to implement the latest security measures.

Article 8 (Compliance with laws and regulations and changes to the Privacy Policy)

Tosho Inban complies with Japanese laws, regulations and other standards applicable to the possession of personal information. The content of our Privacy Policy is subject to change without notifying users. Changes will take effect when changes are made to this page.
